I took this photo of the Campanile on a foggy day on campus. I believe the photo is dated 12/12/2006. (Yes, that is quite a long time ago!) I just loved how the fog looked over the Campanile, so thick and creepy, so I had decided to capture it in a photo.

This is my friend, Myles. I actually took this photo on Monday, during lunch at Pat Brown's (on-campus restaurant). Upon looking at his "Scripps Research" sweatshirt, I noticed the molecule on his sleeve and immediately teased him about it, calling him a nerd. I think the little molecule is cute and nerdy at the same time, and I just couldn't resist taking a picture of it!

I picked up my commencement tickets today. Graduates in the College of Engineering participating in commencement get 6 free tickets, including one for themselves (5 for guests, 1 for the graduate). Our commencement will be held at the Greek Theater on May 23, 2009 from 8:30 AM - 12:00 Noon. I believe it will be the whole graduating class in the College of Engineering, and we will be seated by department.

And so the day draws nearer...

I received an email from the EECS (Electrical Engineering & Computer Science) department today wishing me congratulations on graduating and telling me to stop by 205 Cory Hall (EECS Student Affairs office) to pick up a graduation present that they have for us EECS graduates. Since I had time to kill, I headed over to 205 Cory Hall and was given this awesome EECS keychain. I love COE (College of Engineering) and the EECS department. They are always thoughtful of their students and very helpful. I'm glad I picked this major, and I'm even happier that I'm graduating with an EECS degree. :)

Ryan, John, Paul, Genevieve, David, and I saw David Sedaris at Zellerbach Hall. David Sedaris is the author of bestselling books such as Me Talk Pretty One Day, Naked, Holidays on Ice, etc. I liked his talk a lot; in fact, I loved it. He basically read from his work and talked to the audience. He is a very good reader, and hearing him read aloud his work definitely brings them even more to life. His work is very humorous, and the audience definitely thought so too. The auditorium was filled with roars of laughter, including mine and my companions'. If you haven't read any of his books yet, I definitely recommend you do so.

Ryan and I had brunch with Catherine and Jun this morning. Jun came up to visit Catherine (he's from SoCal). We ate at Chester's, which is a pretty popular brunch destination located at the Gourmet Ghetto on North Side, specifically on Vine. I had a delicious omelet with spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms ♥.

This night was James's birthday party. He finally turned 21! Although this photo is posed and James was only slightly tipsy at the time, this pretty much describes what happened to him by the end of the night (Haha). Regardless of the change in events due to certain drinking mishaps, it was definitely a fun night, and I hope he had fun too. (FYI, I don't drink.)

A lot of people think their lives have reached a dead end. I personally like to consider it more of a stasis, like life is on hiatus. There may be a block in the road, but once you manage to get past the obstruction, the road continues ahead, into the unknown, where there is plenty more to see, experience, and learn. You just have to figure out how to get past that block in the road, and things will pick up again. I haven't quite figured it out yet. I'm working on it.

The view from the parking lot of the Lawrence Hall of Science is beautiful. I wish the air were clearer when I had taken the photo, or that it were sunset. The sunset is beautiful from this spot. As my years at UC Berkeley wind down to months wind down to weeks wind down to days, I wish I had more time to see everything, do everything, enjoy everything. I guess I just have to make the best of what I have.

The weather was so nice today. It was beautifully sunny and warm, with a slight breeze. It was great. After lunch, I decided to go to the East Asian Library and sit upstairs on the squishy chairs in front of the big window. After lurking the internet for a while, I took out my chick lit (haha) book, Something Borrowed, and read, for the first time in a long time. It felt good. I've missed reading for fun. And yes, I also plan on living vicariously through the character. ;) Mmm, I love simple, sappy reads. (Haha). Sometimes I looked out the window to watch people and to ponder. That's fun too -- doing absolutely nothing, introspecting, and just enjoying where you are.

I took this shot while eating lunch in Bear's Lair with my friend/apartment-mate, Paul. Paul, who sat across from me, said, "Oh, look, that guy's playing solitaire." I turned around and looked out the window, only to see the cutest scene ever -- a grown up man playing solitaire, sitting alone by himself. Therefore, I decided to take a photo of him through the window and attempted to do so discretely. Luckily, I succeeded, even though the picture isn't the best shot and you can see the dirt on the window. :] I wouldn't mind hanging out by myself at a cafe, playing solitaire, and sipping a nice glass of ice-cold coffee (it's been rather hot these past two days).

This is one of my favorite spots on campus, located by the Chancellor's house. It reminds me of a fairytale scene found in an enchanted forest. I can picture myself as a princess, running up the stone-paved stairs in a long, flowing gown, on the way to meet Prince Charming.

Hey, a girl can dream, can't she? :)

This is my desk. It is tiny, but it serves me well. Plus, I love the color (turquoise), and it was cheap - from Ikea! I am working in the dark, chugging away at my CS160 (User Interfaces) assignment.

This is my friend, Karen. I met her in the Cantonese Decal last year. She has been coming to the Cal Table Tennis Club practices lately. She's improving pretty quickly too! I admire her determination and willingness to learn. I think she has lots of potential in table tennis. I am also jealous because her Mandarin is better than mine. :( Hehe. I expect that when I come back to Berkeley next year to visit, she will be a pretty good player. :)

By the way, she was also my inspiration to begin this blog (after seeing hers)! I had been thinking of doing something like this for a while, but it was she who pushed me to actually get the ball rollin'.

(1) Hubert, on our way to CS 170 (Algorithms) class. (2) Professor Wagner teaching. Our class is in Lewis Hall. (3) Professor Wagner teaching again. He is an awesome teacher, by the way. I had him for CS70 too, and that is the reason why I decided to take CS170 (because he was teaching it). (4) Frank's nearly completed crossword from The Daily Cal, which he did in 10 minutes while waiting for the bus, apparently. He also solved that lower left corner shortly after I took this shot. (5) Frank, with his crossword.

Table Tennis: What keeps me busy most of my days. This is my paddle: Viscaria blade (Butterfly), Hurricane forehand rubber (red), LKT Rapid Soft backhand rubber (black). Underneath is my Butterfly paddle case ♥. I love its color scheme. The Cal Table Tennis Club and Cal Table Tennis Team (I'm on the women's team!) definitely keep me busy! Oh, but it is also definitely fun, fun, fun!

P.S. The team (men's and women's) went to Rochester, Minnesota two weekends ago for the National Collegiate Table Tennis Championships!

This is my friend, Jimmy. These photos were taken at FSM today when we met up for coffee. I really like the first photo because of the way his eyes are looking at the camera as he drinks.

I am currently sitting at FSM (Free Speech Movement) Cafe with my friend, David. We're supposed to be working on our web application for our independent study (CS199), but instead I am posting on this blog. This photo is the view from the FSM balcony/outdoor seating area. You can see the Valley Life Sciences Building (VLSB) and the Life Science Addition. I love how everything's so green. The weather today is also amazing; sunny, sunny, sunny. Too bad it's super windy and I've gotten something stuck in my throat several times already.

This is a photo of my friend James's neck taken at Steven's birthday party on Friday. I think Tiff was the one that wrote on him. Haha.

So I epic fail and didn't charge my camera after Friday. Here is a picture I took in Hong Kong during winter break. This was taken in Central, I believe. Or Wan Chai. I forgot exactly. I ♥ Hong Kong.

Friday was my friend Steven's surprise birthday party. I think he wasn't expecting anything until he entered his house and noticed that there were extra shoes by his door. Haha. I bought him an ice cream cake from Ben and Jerry's -- coffee, coffee buzz buzz buzz was the flavor. Delicious! James (Steven's roommate, my friend) cooked Korean BBQ for everyone!

This is the Church of Christ Scientist located on Dwight Way. I love the architecture of this building. I like buildings that have a gothic feel to them. I took these shots on my way down to Telegraph from church (Newman Hall Catholic Church).

This is a photo of my friend, david, and me. We were in the eating area by Bear's Lair around lunch time. I've known him since freshman year and we tend to take classes together (typically computer science). We don't have any classes together this semester, though, but we are both doing this independent study project for which we are working on a web application that we created for a class last semester. :)

I like hanging out in Moffitt Library by myself when I have nothing to do. This day I watched Gossip Girl (don't judge!) and did some random internetting. I love pictures with depth and perspective, so that's what I tried to capture with the shot of the shelves. And here's a photo of my bag so you can get a glimpse of its contents.
